“Beautiful open plan living space, a woodburner in the main bedroom which was very romantic when coupled with the sound of the river outside, stunning views from the shower, great walk to the lake and Aberdovey beach is something special especially at sunset.  We had a wonderful weekend with friends and will definitely be back.”  Karen and friends, London

“Have had many lovely springtime holidays in remote peaceful locations but this surpasses them all. Beautiful accommodation in a perfect location. No other place we have stayed has brought the ‘outdoors’ ‘indoors’. Views from all the windows in all the rooms are beautiful. Want to tell the world about it!”  Sharon, Dave, Joseph, Thomas, Margaret & Leonard, Birmingham plus Rolo & Scooby the dogs

“Wow! Don’t know how to stress how much we were impressed with Y Felin. Perfect for what we needed and the location was amazing. The little touches made it even more special and we enjoyed everything that the Welcome Hamper had to offer.”  Darryl, Bri, Martin, Alex & Scott

“A magical wonderful bolt hole, easy to arrive almost impossible to leave. Come rain or shine there is always something to do. I loved the walk from the house to the church across the field. As for the beaches they are amazing. Thank you Ruth for making the house so welcoming, clean and warm.”

“What a fabulous place to stay: inside and out! The furniture is stylish and the linen luxurious. Picture windows make the most of the setting and we thank you for the open invitation to explore the farm land.”  Nikki & Steve Worcestershire

“Thank you for allowing us to share your beautiful house, Y Felin. We feel very lucky to have enjoyed our honeymoon in such a relaxing and idyllic place. We would never tire of the views out of the windows and have sat and watched the river run by. We will definitely return.”  Tim & Charlotte

“Really enjoyed our 11 nights in this peaceful and relaxing home. Took a few days to let go of the outside world and once we did, it was lovely to have no TV or radio. Walked every day, even though the weather was mixed. Beautiful countryside. Thank you for all the lovely things in the ‘welcome pack’, much appreciated and also the welsh cakes you left us us on Wednesday, sorry we missed meeting you”.  Sue and Don, Beverley

“A wonderful few days, lost count of the number of times we sat, stared and sighed. So peaceful and very special”.  Rebecca and Adrian

“We’ve had a happy time in this special building in a beautiful place. From here we’ve climbed up to Llyn Cau, the lakes in the shadow of Cader Idris.  We’ve visited Machynlleth’s bustling Wednesday market day and the Centre for Alternative Technology on the way back. And as a faithful Spring-watch viewers, we travelled to Ynys Hir and the RSPB reserve to see the first flocks of winter geese. For closer to home, we explored the wonderful world of mosses, lichens and liverworts on the rocks and trees by the river with Annie Seddon as our guide. If you have more than a passing interest in nature, an afternoon with Annie is a must (ask Ruth for details)”.

Ruth has done such a wonderful job in restoring the mill in such an elegant and environmentally sensitive way. Her touches with toiletries, bathrobes, a basket of provisions and everything you need to bake a loaf of bread are both luxurious and welcoming. Thank you from all of us”.  Alexandra, Peter and Max Sheldon with Archie the retriever and Angus the West Highland Terrier. Caterham

“Love the house – found it hard to tear ourselves away from here and the walks around the farm and river, fabulous. Very much appreciated the chance to sample produce from the local area – thank you. Particularly liked the hare who seems to live in the garden and the views of heron from the kitchen. Re-visited lots of places and memories from childhood holidays in the area, especially the beach at Aberdyfi”(great for local beer, cheese, preserves etc – and fab ginger cake”). And the butcher in Machynlleth. And for larger more practical shopping, the large Co-op in Tywyn. Well done for creating such a beautiful and comfortable house – very deserving of five stars”.  Derek Chapman and Sarah Pettegrew, North Norfolk

“For us it is great there is no TV. We have played some card games, some chess, read the newspapers, and enjoyed the simple things in life that back home in the ‘rat race’, we don’t have time to do. Diolch o galon”.  Debs, Sam and Tom and Gareth

“I had a great time, running with the sheep in the field next to the house”. Ryan, aged 6

“..many thanks to Ruth and all concerned for providing such a lovely and welcoming cottage. The setting was even better than expected and the access to all of your land is much appreciated. Also visited Glaslyn lake ( which is S.E. of Machynlleth and highly recommended), Cregennan lakes, Castell y Bere, various trips out – so much to do in the area”.  Steve and Ann, Spalding

“Watching the river flow!  Climbing the hills into the clouds! Cader Idris is a momentary gap in the mist up on high! Autumnul oranges, white, browns and silver engage the eye.  Wonder upon wonder. The house is spacious and draws you into a ‘come and forget all mode’.  Our walking tour of Wales was delightful.”  Clive Whittaker

“From the moment I entered this wonderful location, I knew our week here would be truly special. Ruth has provided guests with a stylish, luxurious haven, one that transports us to a tranquil oasis away from the hectic demands of modern life. To be away from laptops, mobiles and television is something I am keen to re-create at home on my return.  As for Wales itself, stunningly beautiful and utterly bewitching! Thank you Ruth and thank you Ben for the fresh eggs. We will be back”!   Joanna and Michael Cowie, Holmfirth

“Fantastic cottage, super clean, has everything and more. Great views through all windows, especially the dining room and main master roon. The girls had lots of fun playing games and running around the outside areas. Had a great time visiting the local areas. Aberdyfi/Tywyn. Lots of activity for children, crazy golf etc.”  Adam, Kerry, Bethany, Rona, Freya and Harriet.  Chesterfield

“Fantastic break.  Loved the house. Did the walk to Cader Idris – great views and scenery along the way. Cycled the Mawddach Way to Barmouth and had a day out on the bikes at Coed y Brenin. The Dolgoch falls – just 4 miles away, were a nice place to visit for a couple of hours. Took a trip to Aberdyfi, very nice.  Although it was a trek – we struck lucky, drove to Newquay – beautiful sunny day and saw the dolphins!”  Stu and Juliet
